a theme in many discussions on this site over the years is how to translate the "dreams and talk" about big, elusive, intimidating issues into action. i want to start posting some of that content here, whether it's lists that we compile or just links to other resources. (let's tag this stuff... 'action'.)

in that vein, here's a list of simple, small actions you can take to deter global warming, as prepared by Environmental Defense. a lot of it is common-sensical stuff, but i still find this kind of thing handy to read through, and hopefully find a nugget of a new idea or two. (also, i'm not sure how i feel about the carbon offset craze, but i suppose a little rock star status for climate change doesn't hurt.)
