well, what is it now, 2008? as the NY Times reported a few days ago, it looks like (gasp) there really was a centralized Pentagon propaganda campaign, with collusion from big media, to sell the Iraq war (and smooth over all of its atrocities along the way).
the infamous talking heads on all the TV networks, "military analysts", or as their referred to by the Pentagon, "message force multipliers" or "surrogates", many of whom had/have their own business dealings standing to make quite a bit of money from the war, have been spoon-fed the Pentagon agenda in exchange for access and fraternity from the days before the war.
why is this such big news? anyone with a shred of common sense and critical thinking ability was well aware of this 5 years ago before our latest imperial crusade was launched.
nice work, NY Times. too bad you couldn't have written this article while Judy Miller's Iraq cheerleading was at its zenith. how many people have been killed in Iraq since then?
