i enjoyed reading an article in today's NY Times about bicycling in New York City, titled The Wild Bunch.
the author, a cyclist, gave some glimpses into the recent history of attitudes/policies towards biking in New York City, and advocated some really sensible suggestions for cyclists to further their own cause and continue to gain respect and appreciation from other citizens and policy-makers alike, i.e. suggestions for more sustainable transportation options for the city in general.
i saw the car with cracked windshield yesterday, a block from my son's school and the incident i posted about a few months ago. the ghost bike is still there.
while i'd hoped the windshield damage was done by some other type of accident, or a trusty baseball bat like we saw in Boston over the weekend, apparently it was the impact of a human body.
here i am. i packed up and left Seattle on 6/26, and with massive help from family and friends arrived in Brooklyn the night of 7/3.
i put 4026 miles on my 16' Penske moving van
