for any fellow nerds out there following along at home, i got this site upgraded to Drupal 6 today.
though things (hopefully) look the same, this is actually a major upgrade and i'm still fine-tuning some things, so if anything's wonky, please let me know!
i also cleaned up the new options to add images, video, and audio.
i've just enabled email subscriptions on dtek.tv (thanks to Drupal's contributed subscriptions module!).
this means you can get phpBB-style email notifications for any discussion thread that you'd like (a forum topic, blog post, etc), which is a feature i'd been missing since we made the switch from phpBB recently. here's how it works:
in response to public demand, i've been working on the best way to add features to dtek.tv so it can handle the same content that it has in the past. i'll write more about that later, but for now check out the music i've just added: a few new tracks and a few classics from long time dtekker DJ Earle E (hopefully he'll give us a write up to go along with the music later)...
Like ARH1 said in his welcome to the new DI post there have been some changes around here.
I've been fielding confusion from some hardcore members (the most hardcore we've got) about what's become of their old member page content -- like their Poems, Images, Videos and stuff.
As ARH said in the post linked above, contact us about migrating the best of the best into this site, and we'll get on it when we can.
So Arh1, the web has changed a lot since we opened up Dtek Industries at the turn of the Millennium. How will we adapt? One could say that we were trying to be a little YouTube/Flickr/Myspace for our own little community. Lets talk about how this new Content Management System-driven home base will change how people share their work on DI, and how our community site can remain useful for our community.
new web site!
after nearly a year of "been meaning to", and exasperation with the level of spam coming in to the old phpBB forums, i decided to just go ahead and recklessly overhaul dtek.tv! once Drupal 5 was released, i couldn't hold back... ;)
note that if you had an account on the old phpBB forums, the same username and password should work on the new site. if you have any trouble logging in, feel free to request a new password or contact us.
