i've been firing away on flickr lately.

i love these two shots that i got at one of my favorite spots yesterday, the Duane Reade on Flatbush ave -- brilliant ads, beautiful products, well-reflected:

in my ongoing attempt to keep this site lean and mean, light and nimble, i've made some changes to the way media (images, audio, and video) will work. since these days we're mostly just writing blog and forum posts, the old media is gone. the emphasis now is on using other sites to host your images (flickr), audio (odeo), and video (youtube, vimeo, etc). so e.g.

my buddy Benjy out here, aka Slippery Joaquin, takes great photos... i love this one he took last week of me and our soccer teammate Patrick.

a couple of his photos, including this one are also going to be featured at an exhibit in the San Diego Natural History Museum next month. great work, Benjy!

i pick up the mediacology feed mostly for The Media Spot's sake, but a few days ago it pointed me to this gem of a project by JK Keller.

the same photo, every day, for 8 years. awesome.
